If Geneva has a spicy little secret, it’s Taco Rico—the go-to spot for real-deal
Mexican street food.
But guess what?
It all kicked off in New York City, baby. In 2013, David Emma was in NYC to learn English. At 24, he was supposed to head back to Switzerland and dive into finance until one life-changing bite of a taco on 6th Avenue flipped the plan upside down. Boom! Everything was fresh, homemade, and bursting with saborrrr. That’s when the idea hit:
“Why don’t we have this in Geneva?”
Back home, David went all in!
Renovated a space with local artisans.
He chose suppliers offering 100% Swiss quality meat.
Teamed up with a Mexican chef to perfect every recipe, from the marinades to the guac (made daily, of course).
But here’s the real secret sauce...
Taco Rico is a full-on family affair.
David runs the show with his sister, while their mamacita is in the kitchen, simmering cochinita marinades for 24 hours, whipping up fresh guac, and putting lots of love into every dish. Yes, several times a day; because freshness isn’t an option, it’s the rule.
